Who doesn’t love cozying up with a great book, or two or three!  Rakuten Kobo offers readers over 6 million eBooks to choose from, and did you know that Kobo is an anagram for the word ‘Book’.

Here is an innovative project that Gorrie was commissioned to work on which was deployed in Best Buys across Canada. The Gorrie Design Team created and engineered a standout solution that provided the nostalgia of hard copy books paired with the technology of the Kobo eBook. The colours were vibrant, eye-catching, and dynamic. The modular display was a substantial improvement in merchandising, complete with magnetic interchangeable graphics and built-in security, it was an evolution from the basic book to an electronic bookstore+!

These updatable e-Reader displays highlighted the subscription-based service, with cards available to purchase in-store.  Gorrie ensured all branding guidelines were met and bilingual for the national campaign. The innovative unit is a multi-device display combining the warmth and feel of reading a paper book, with the breadth and possibilities of an e-Reader.  The engineering on the design was built for longevity since Kobo offers free reading applications for Windows and MacOS computers, Android and iOS smartphones.
