OVERVIEW

The objective was to build an Eco Friendly paint chip display that would complement the Ayurveda Color System featuring AFM Safecoat Paints. The display design features materials that can be recycled or contain a large percentage of recycled content. The lighting employs energy efficient compact fluorescent bulbs that provides even illumination over the unique color palette of shaped take-home color chips. These chips are shaped to depict the symbols of the natural elements of Air, Fire, and Water. Each of the three themes features 36 colors that relate to the users inner self.

CHALLENGE

The challenge was to build a paint chip display that maximizes the use of environmentally friendly or "green" components and processes.

RESULTS

Gorrie designed and produced a unique POP display that compliments the the branding, image and “reason d’être” of the Ayurveda Paint System through the use of environmentally friendly materials and manufacturing processes. It is Gorrie’s initial foray into the Cradle to Cradle design movement proving that design and function can be achieved through manufacturing by employing responsible ways and means.
