OVERVIEW
Easy Home is Canada’s largest merchandise leasing company. The “rent to own” furniture and appliance retail environment was not an inviting or engaging space. The objective was to reposition Easy Home in the minds of consumers and to create a new look and feel that would drive brand awareness while motivating sales.
CHALLENGE
• Create a heightened consumer buying experience consistent with the “store of the future” vision of Easy Home.
• Address and analyze all consumer touch points from communications through to store layout, colour schemes, fixtures and signage.
• Analyze financial metrics and rationalize all design direction.
• Manage every aspect of design, development and implementation.
• To merchandise as much furniture as possible, while maintaining an organized and inviting shopping space.
RESULTS
• Gorrie addressed the emerging consumer needs and accommodated additional products and services, while enhancing the consumers shopping experience.
• Sales per square foot increased and the prototype store was used as the national roll-out model.
• Increased sales in both furniture and the electronics category with above average sales estimated at 13%.
• Achieved company sales growth plan of 8%.
