Gorrie was exceptionally proud and honoured to work with Medline Canada, on the design and development of their state-of-the-art distribution and warehouse facility. They are one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of high-quality medical supplies nationally. The 600,000 sq ft. space has an inventory of over 25,000 medical products, products that are vital to keeping Canada’s healthcare systems operating. The COVID-19 pandemic showed the important role medical supplies were to front-line workers and patients’ safety and health. The centre is Health Canada certified, and features logistics technology including a self-contained temperature-controlled environment for safe storage of medical supplies.

Medline wanted to highlight their brand pillars, applying their CARES’ values across multiple touchpoints for visitors and employees to experience. Gorrie was tasked with conceptualizing the space to appeal to new employees and visitors, incorporating a variety of structures and textures throughout. Part of the design ensured wayfinding was visually appealing and brightened the space. Gorrie created a stylized timeline with multiple graphics using magazine ads as inspiration for the theme, highlighting the past, present, and future. The one-hundred-year history of Medline was a focal point for guests to understand the scope of the company’s full capabilities.

Office spaces and meeting rooms were outfitted with stand-off acrylic graphics, featuring core historical figures, as well as colourful vinyl graphics to maintain their strong brand guidelines. The cafeteria had multi-material 3D logos that are the embodiment of Medline’s core values, celebrating what is important to the organization in everything they do; Customer Focus, Accountability, Respectful Communication, Efficiency and Strength of Their People.
